Four steps.
- 01 · Create your account
Register and confirm your email.
- 02 · Install Infser
Create a pairing code and run the installer for macOS, Windows or Linux, or install the Android app. At first the assistant only sees your home folder.
- 03 · Connect your AI
Add https://mcp.infser.com/mcp in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok and sign in with your Infser account.
- 04 · Approve when it asks
When the assistant asks, approve one grant for that device. It covers the listed actions for a limited time. Revoke it from Approvals.
Connect your AI
Every assistant uses the same address and the same Infser login. Sign in when the assistant asks. Do not paste a password or an API key into the chat.
https://mcp.infser.com/mcp
Add a custom connector with the MCP address, or install the Infser app from the directory when it is listed. Choose Connect and complete the Infser login. Then ask it to list your devices.
In Claude, add a custom connector for the MCP address and finish the Infser login. From the Claude Code CLI you can run: claude mcp add --transport http infser https://mcp.infser.com/mcp
Add the MCP address as a remote server and complete the Infser login. Start with a read, such as listing the home folder, before you approve a change.
Choose New Connector, then Custom MCP, and enter the MCP address. Finish the Infser login. The Grok CLI equivalent is: grok mcp add --transport http infser https://mcp.infser.com/mcp
The work runs on the computer you paired
The assistant can list your devices, work with files in allowed folders, take a screenshot, open a live view where it is available, and click or type while the grant is active.
On your devices, the assistant works only on the ones you paired, inside the allowed folders and while the grant is active.
ChatGPT · Claude · Gemini · Grok → Infser → your computer
Example: “List the files in my home folder and read the sample note.” Clicks and typing wait until you approve the grant.
Install Infser on a computer you control
Sign in, open Devices and create a pairing code. Run the command on that computer and confirm the device when it appears. The installer always downloads the latest published release.
Install only on computers you own or are allowed to administer. The installer checks the signed release before it changes the system. Pairing decides which workspace can use the machine.
curl -fsSL https://infser.com/install-agent.sh | sudo sh -s -- --pair <TOKEN>
Runs with sudo so it can install the service. The agent does not keep running as root. Add --full-disk only when you intend to leave the home folder.
curl -fsSL https://infser.com/install-agent-macos.sh | sudo sh -s -- --pair <TOKEN>
Apple silicon and Intel are both supported. The installer opens Screen Recording and Accessibility for Infser Desktop Worker. Switch that name on in both lists. Add --full-disk only when you intend to leave the home folder.
irm https://infser.com/install-agent.ps1 -OutFile install-agent.ps1; .\install-agent.ps1 -Pair <TOKEN>
Open PowerShell with Run as administrator. The installer refuses to continue until it is elevated. Add -FullDisk only when you intend to leave the home folder.
Replace <TOKEN> with the pairing code from Devices. The code works once.
You do not need Node.js to install the agent. The optional CLI adds diagnostic commands: @infser/cli · npx --yes https://infser.com/downloads/cli/0.3.0/infser-cli-0.3.0.tgz doctor
Use Infser on an Android phone
The Android app is in preview. You install it from the Devices page and link it with your account, without pairing codes.
- 01 · Download the app
On the phone, open infser.com and sign in. In Devices, tap Add device, choose Android and download the app. Allow installs from this source when Android asks.
- 02 · Sign in with Infser
Open the app and tap Sign in with Infser. Confirm the phone in the browser.
- 03 · Turn on remote access
A persistent notification shows that it is on. Turn it off from the app or from the notification.
- 04 · Allow device control
In Settings › Accessibility, turn on Infser. It lets the assistant open apps, tap and type only while remote access is on.
- 05 · Share the screen
For screenshots, tap Allow screen sharing and choose the entire screen. Android asks again every time remote access restarts. Without sharing, an assistant can read the screen and tap only after you approve.
- 06 · Choose folders
In Shared folders, add only the folders you want the assistant to reach.
The app cannot read other apps’ private data: Android keeps it closed. Infser only sees the folders you add. In the app settings you can turn on Send logs: the app then sends error codes and counters only, never content, and you see them on the Devices page.
Home folder, or the whole disk
A new install allows only the signed-in user’s home folder. File tools cannot leave it. The full disk is your choice and is not the default.
Listing, reading and searching do not change anything. Writing, creating folders, moving and deleting need the grant.
- macOS and Linux: add --full-disk to the installer command, or set INFSER_ALLOWED_ROOTS.
- Windows: add -FullDisk. On macOS, the full disk still needs Full Disk Access for protected folders such as Desktop, Documents and Mail, and it does not bypass another user’s permissions.
- Updates keep your choice. If the folder settings are missing or broken, the update goes back to the home folder and keeps a copy of the old settings beside them.
- To change an existing computer, edit allowed_roots in the agent configuration and restart the agent. The dashboard has no switch for it.
- Android has no full-disk option: the assistant only sees the folders you add in the app.
macOS Screen Recording and Accessibility
The screen tools run in the Infser Desktop Worker app. The installer opens Screen Recording and Accessibility: switch on “Infser Desktop Worker” in both lists under System Settings → Privacy & Security. Infser does not flip those switches itself. You grant them once, and updates keep them. To open the prompts again, run sudo /usr/local/libexec/infser/infser-agent permissions, or rerun only that step with sudo sh install-agent-macos.sh --permissions. If you are not logged into the Mac desktop, sign in first. If you deny the prompts, file access keeps working and screen tools stay unavailable.
Update the agent
On a computer that is already paired, run the installer again without a new pairing code. It upgrades in place, keeps the device identity and always installs the latest published release. On Android, download the new app from Devices › Add device › Android and install it over the old one: your sign-in stays.
Uninstall
Uninstall leaves the device identity in place so a later install can reconnect. Purge also deletes that identity. Revoke the device from Devices if you do not want it to reconnect. On Android, use Logout in the app menu, then uninstall the app.
- Linux: sudo sh install-agent.sh --uninstall — add --purge to delete the device identity too.
- macOS: sudo sh install-agent-macos.sh --uninstall — add --purge to delete the device identity too.
- Windows, from an elevated PowerShell: .\install-agent.ps1 -Uninstall — add -Purge to delete the device identity too.
If something stops
- Slow network or “Connection reset”: the installer retries the download and resumes a partial file. If it still stops, run the same command again. The partial download is kept, and existing Infser services are not changed.
- Linux and macOS: the command needs sudo for installation. The running agent is not root.
- Windows: “Run this installer from an elevated PowerShell” means you must use Run as administrator. A normal window cannot install the service.
- The pairing code is single-use and it expires. Create a new code from Devices if the page stopped waiting.
- The device stays offline: confirm you approved it in the browser, then check that the computer can reach infser.com.
- Android shows “Reconnecting…”: check the phone’s connection, the app retries by itself. If Android ended screen sharing, allow it again from the app.
Screenshot, live view, mouse and keyboard
Screen tools run in the signed-in session. The live view arrives as frames over HTTPS and is not saved. It is available on Linux with X11; on Windows, macOS and Android it is in testing.
desktop.screenshotCaptures the signed-in screen. The picture is temporary.
desktop.stream.open · desktop.stream.stopStarts and stops the live view. Frames are not stored. Available on Linux with X11, in testing on Windows, macOS and Android.
desktop.state · desktop.inspectDescribe the signed-in screen. Of the window titles only the one in front is included, shortened.
desktop.click · desktop.type · desktop.key · desktop.scroll · desktop.dragAct on elements from a recent read of the screen. They require the grant.
What each system needs
Windows uses UI Automation. macOS uses Accessibility and Screen Recording for Infser Desktop Worker. Linux uses X11 with AT-SPI, XTEST and native X11 capture. Android uses the Infser Accessibility service and Android screen sharing.
Mouse and keyboard control is verified on Linux with X11. On Windows, macOS and Android it is available but still being verified on real devices.
Security and privacy
- The assistant receives the tool result you asked for. It does not receive a standing copy of your disk.
- Screenshots and live frames are not written to the audit log. Live frames stay in memory until the next frame or until the stream stops.
- You can stop a stream from the chat, revoke the grant, sign out, or disconnect the device.
- Questions about your data: [email protected]. General questions: [email protected]. Do not send passwords or device keys by email.
FAQ
Does the assistant get a terminal?
Only with your approval. The assistant can see the list of processes and services; opening a terminal, starting or stopping a program and managing a service need a grant, unless you set rules for it in your workspace. You can revoke it whenever you want.
Can it read my whole disk?
Not unless you opted in with --full-disk or -FullDisk. New devices start with the home folder. On Android it only sees the folders you add.
How do I stop it?
Revoke the grant, sign the assistant out, or disable the device. Each one stops further actions.
Does the live view work on Mac, PC and Android?
It is available on Linux with X11. On Windows, macOS and Android it is in testing and may not appear yet. Screenshots work on all of them once you allow the requested permissions.
Which version should I install?
Use the commands on this page: they always download the latest published release. For Android, download the app from Devices › Add device › Android.
Does Infser offer a cloud browser?
Yes, in preview. The assistant can open a browser run by Infser to visit websites. Opening the browser and acting on pages need your grant, unless you set rules for it in your workspace.
